The team at Macadamian ’stays the course’

Positive work atmosphere, sense of play keeps staff productive, motivated

By Fred Boulanger - Monday, July 13th, 2009

Frederic Boulanger, founder and CEO of Macadamian Technologies Inc., discusses the role his company plays as a software consultancy that helps clients develop successful products, the demands this puts on staff and how the company is always working to be a destination employer for the best talent.

In tough economic times such as now, leaders and employees are constantly being tested. Staff often succumb to worry and anxiety that can erode morale and productivity across an organization. Frederic stresses the importance of an “egoless” culture, in which staff feel comfortable engaging with senior management to discuss their concerns, as well as regular and open communication to ensure staff understand the Big Picture and appreciate the reasons behind the tough decisions. He touches on the calibre of leadership that is required to maintain morale and ensure a company “stays the course” in challenging times.
